Goodbye Cool Hand Luke

“I'm a supporter of gay rights. And not a closet supporter either. From the time I was a kid, I have never been able to understand attacks upon the gay community. There are so many qualities that make up a human being... by the time I get through with all the things that I really admire about people, what they do with their private parts is probably so low on the list that it is irrelevant.”

Sad news. The world is not only losing a great actor, but the gay community is losing a great friend. It's been said he had homosexual relationships when he was young and lived with and maintained friendships with gay men all his life. I'm 54 years old and I grew up watching him in film. I had his pictures on the walls of my lonely bedroom when I was young. The loss of another icon in my life has saddened me deeply as it serves as a reminder that my time nears.

Jim, if I could I would give you a hug and tell you that even though we never know when our time is up, I am sure you have many years to come. I don't know the status of things in your life, but you're not alone. If you need someone to talk to, please contact me.

So many good actors have passed away this year.

Paul was someone who never let his fame and good looks go to his head. His charitable contributions are highly commendable and he will be missed from this world.

What a beautiful man he was.

I watched Butch and Sundance this morning. I cried a few times knowing he is gone.
