I Fell In Love....Again!

Time for me to go to work, I have a ship to catch. I'll be spending the next couple of days at sea, but my mind, my heart will be remembering this weekend. I didn't want this weekend to end. It was a nice romantic weekend alone with my man and I fell in love with him all over again. I never fell out of love with him actually, but sometimes you get into a rut and you start to take what you have for granted because of the busy life your living. But we stopped the running around and took a moment to catch our breaths and rediscover each other. This weekend made me realize, again, why I fell in love with him. Why I continue to love him, and why I hope to love him for the rest of my life.

I really do believe it was fate, my destiny to do everything I did in my life to bring me to this point in time. To the love of my life, to the life I am living so far away from where I was born and raised. To live in this land of my ancestors, of the blood that flows through my veins. I stated many times before in this blog and to my friends that I felt lost for several years. But when I'm in his arms, life is good, I'm at peace and I am home.

Batman

We saw the Batman movie this weekend. I thought it was the best movie I've seen all year. I think Christian Bale is the best Batman ever. But that aside, Heath Ledger was remarkable in his role as the Joker. I loved when he walked out of the hospital dressed as the female nurse and the walk he had. It was another classic performance by this man who left this world too young. I think he has given two of the best acting performances ever put on film, the first being in Brokeback Mountain. Wherever you are Heath you can be proud of the work you left behind that will be enjoyed and honored by present and future generations for many years to come. You left this world too soon, but your name, your memory, your work shall live on.

Dublin - City Of Romance

24 Hours In Howth

We went to Howth this weekend, which is a little north of Dublin. Its one of our favorite areas of Ireland. We were able to have a romantic get away and spend some time alone just the two of us this weekend. We had a weekend full of laughs and kissing and it was nice to be able to finally connect again with each other. It was nice to take a moment out of our busy lives and just have this weekend be about us.

Its Morning Already?

The night went by too fast. I love wearing my mans shirt to bed. From the way he acts when he sees me in his shirts, I think he like it too!

Barrack In Germany

I liked what he said and agreed with his words, especially the part of how Americans and Europeans have come to distrust one another, but in reality need each other and live common lives and have common goals. I'm just not convinced he means what he says. He seems to tell people what they want to hear and I'm not sure how much he will back up his talk if he becomes President. But I do like his approach to the world, one that hasn't been tried for decades, so I am willing to give him my vote and give his words a chance to succeed.

One thing that bothers me is how he played up to the Jewish vote back in America while he was in Israel. He went to the wailing wall and wore a white yarmulke, which is fine. But when he was visiting with Muslims, he did not wear the scarf or visit a mosque. If you want to be a peace negotiator for these two cultures, you need to show you do not favor one side over the other. Now I understand why he didn't wear a Muslim scarf, but its the same reason why he did wear a yarmulke....votes.

Another reason Obama currently has my vote, is that he has stated he wants to repeal the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy for gays in the US military, while McCain wishes to keep the status quo. But I have to wonder if he really means what he says when he seeks changes and more freedoms for gays and lesbians in America or if he was again saying what people wanted to hear because he was going against Hillary Clinton who had great support from gays and lesbians.

The world is ready for a change and I hope he is the man he says he will be to help the world make that change.

Thanks For The Laughs

Thanks for the laughs! Rest In Peace.

The Golden Girls were one of my all time favorite shows. I just heard the news about Estelle Getty passing. I know she has been ill for years and wasn't really there anymore mentally, but its still sad to hear of her passing.

padraig harrington

He won the British Open for the second year in a row, first time a European player has done this is 102 years, or so my man tells me. I am not into golf, but he loves the game. He was the talk of the crew this week and now that I am back home, he is the talk at home still. This guy is the king of Ireland right now.

An Evening Bike Ride

Tonight I'm on my own since my man works, my flat mate is at the movies with his girlfriend, Hamish is in Sligo, and the rest of my friends are doing something I don't want to do. So I decided to go out for an evening bike ride.

It's a beauitful evening and I just want to be outside and enjoy it, not stuck in a pub or at home. I am packing my camera, some water, and a slice of blueberry pie a friend made for us.

I think I will find a nice spot and sit and watch the sunset and the stars come out. Maybe get some good pictures of the nighttime scenery that I love so much here in Ireland.

I wish everyone a great weekend and I hope you're having a great Saturday night wherever you are.
