Three O'Clock In The Morning

I'm a light sleeper, so when my man comes home after working the late shift at his hospital I usually wake up and talk to him as he gets undressed. He got home a little after three this morning. He always tries to be quiet and not wake me, but as I mentioned I am a light sleeper, so I almost always wake up at the slightest noise. Plus my cats stepping on my head when they hear the door open helps to wake one up.

I never really thought about it until this morning, but I actually enjoy watching him get undressed. He is usually sleepy and his voice is low and sexy sweet. He fumbles getting his socks off and almost has a sigh of relief when he undoes his pants and belt buckle as if to say I'm home and I can finally relax.

He knows I'm watching him as he unbuttons his shirt and sometimes he gets a wry little smile across his face and if he is in a playful mood will do a mini strip tease with his shirt as he unbuttons it. Once he is down to just his shorts, he'll crawl on the bed to me, kiss me, and we talk about his day as he lays in my arms. His head resting on my chest as I rub his hair and scratch his back. My cats jump on the bed and nudge him with kisses and wag their tails that the pack is together again.

Then he gets up and takes a quick shower, brushes his teeth, gives the cats a treat and its just when I'm about to fall back to sleep that I feel him crawl in to bed behind me and snuggle into me. He'll put his arm around me and pull me close to him. The cats done with their snack, come in and jump on the bed behind the pillows and we all settle in for a good nights sleep.

When he goes back to Africa for a couple months, its this time of the night that I'll miss him the most.

I can see I'll be getting some late night phone calls again when you can't sleep. That's ok, that is what I'm here for my friend.

You make me want to cry reading this. I just adore you and your MAN. I hope you both stay safe, you at sea and him in Africa. I thought gay men were supposed to be decorating peoples hosues, not doing these dangerous jobs! Isn't this the work of lesbians? hehe
