A Mothers Passing

Gareths mother has passed away. He has not said much, but he does seem to be handling things better than I thought he might. I'm trying to be there for him in any way he needs, but no words can comfort the loss of a mother. You may know this day is coming, but you are never prepared for that moment.

Britians Got Talent

Britain's Got Talent "Grand Finale" show has become the most successful TV programme in Britain since England played Portugal in the 2004 Euro tournament.

More than 20 million viewers, or close to 75% of the country tuned into ITV1 to see Diversity win the Britain's Got Talent crown. While Diversity were good, almost everyone was obviously rooting for Susan Boyle. Even though she came in second, she will be the name everyone remembers from this competition.

And who can forget this guy....

Monday is a bank holiday in Ireland and this weekend is also the Dublin Docklands Maritime Festival. We took a walk there earlier today and will spend the day Monday going to the varies events.
We had bought some blueberry bread and Gareth just cut a few slices, warmed it up and put some butter on them. mmm good eating.

Sunday Evening Resting

We did a lot of walking and swimming this weekend and it feels good to be home and resting on the couch. Gareth got a bit too much sun this weekend and I had to put some lotion on him. We're watching some Graham Norton episodes we had taped and I'm trying to talk him into making us a snack. I'm hungry right now, but too lazy to get up and do something about it. lol.

Ireland won the A1 Grandprix, just watched it on tape.

Neary a quarter of a million Irish have visited Galway for the Volvo Ocean Race. Its been beautiful weather with plenty of sunshine. We've sampled lots of good food and drink and met so many interesting people. Finding a place to piss though, thats a different story.
