Get Out Of Dublin Free

Dublin a bad move in North Monopoly

The makers of a Belfast version of Monopoly have been urged to scrap the "Go to Jail" card with one which declares: "Go to Dublin".

Monopoly spokesman Graham Barnes said: “We have done some initial market research, and suggestions have been made by several people to replace the "Go to Jail’ card with a "Go to Dublin" card, which might not go down so well with some people.

“But at the moment it is a blank canvas and we are open to suggestions from the Belfast public,” he said.

Crumlin Road Prison is among the landmarks being considered for the famous board game.

Details of the proposed game plan are being unveiled later today on top of the giant wheel outside the City Hall. The traditional 33 places on the board will bear Belfast locations as chosen by the public.

Lord Mayor Jim Rodgers said: “I think it is a great idea, but it was a bit of a surprise, I never thought they would be looking at Belfast.”

Asked about replacing the "Go to Jail" card with "Go to Dublin" Mr Rodgers added: “I have no difficulty with it, I am a democrat and the people have a right to decide.”

A Web site, belfastwinningmoves.co.uk, is due open at the end of April where the public can vote on the locations they would like to see on the board. The new game is due to go on sale at Christmas.

Stool For Kilt Wearers

This is classic. A friend of mine that I met online from Belfast sent me this picture in an email. This is great. Some people have great imaginations. Although one would hope that the wood is warmed because that would not be pleasant cold.

Restful Saturday

My man is working late again tonight, I am waiting for him to come home. I fell asleep on the couch tonight watching the telly and now I am wide awake. I figured I would play on the computer for awhile as I download some new music. I making my man a play list of songs for when he goes to Africa, he can play them when he has his spare moments.

Three O'Clock In The Morning

I'm a light sleeper, so when my man comes home after working the late shift at his hospital I usually wake up and talk to him as he gets undressed. He got home a little after three this morning. He always tries to be quiet and not wake me, but as I mentioned I am a light sleeper, so I almost always wake up at the slightest noise. Plus my cats stepping on my head when they hear the door open helps to wake one up.

I never really thought about it until this morning, but I actually enjoy watching him get undressed. He is usually sleepy and his voice is low and sexy sweet. He fumbles getting his socks off and almost has a sigh of relief when he undoes his pants and belt buckle as if to say I'm home and I can finally relax.

He knows I'm watching him as he unbuttons his shirt and sometimes he gets a wry little smile across his face and if he is in a playful mood will do a mini strip tease with his shirt as he unbuttons it. Once he is down to just his shorts, he'll crawl on the bed to me, kiss me, and we talk about his day as he lays in my arms. His head resting on my chest as I rub his hair and scratch his back. My cats jump on the bed and nudge him with kisses and wag their tails that the pack is together again.

Then he gets up and takes a quick shower, brushes his teeth, gives the cats a treat and its just when I'm about to fall back to sleep that I feel him crawl in to bed behind me and snuggle into me. He'll put his arm around me and pull me close to him. The cats done with their snack, come in and jump on the bed behind the pillows and we all settle in for a good nights sleep.

When he goes back to Africa for a couple months, its this time of the night that I'll miss him the most.
