Springtime In January?
This week it has been warm. Spring like temperatures hovering around 60 degrees during the day. We have the windows of the farm house open and I've even spotted a few bees flying around. Today I am walking around wearing only a pair of shorts. Although I have to get dressed in a few minutes because we are going to the farm show to join up with my friends who are already there with their animals. Yesterday we loaded up the horses up in the trailer and took them to Gettysburg to tour the battlefield by horseback. It was a great time, although my man is a little sore and stiff this morning.
This morning was the first time my man and I had some alone time since we arrived here and I was hoping to have a little fun to start the day. But he is so sore from his horseback riding day that practically everything on him I touched hurt. So I decided to get up and take my friends dog for a long walk in the field. It was actually a nice time to spend some time alone thinking in that field. We came back to the house, I got a nice shower, slipped on some shorts, poured some tea and sat on the porch just listening to the sounds of the country.
The shower water just turned off, which means he is done with his shower. Time for me to get dressed so we can get this day started.

Cowboys Are Sexy...
...or so my man has stated tonight as we we're cleaning out the horse stalls. I had found my old cowboy hat that I had left behind at my friends house when I moved to Ireland and I wore it today. To me, wearing a cowboy hat is just natural because that is what men do around here. You either wear a cowboy hat or a ball cap when you're outside. For him though, its all new and I found out how much he liked it when we we're alone for a few moments cleaning out the horse stalls earlier tonight.Since we've got here, we have not had much time alone except a few brief moments. Plus we are staying at my best friends farm and the walls are thin. So it caught me off guard when he grabbed the rake out of my hands earlier tonight and pushed me back against the stall wall and started kissing me with a forceful passion and in an almost breathless voice as he pressed against me he told me what I had already felt, how turned on he was.
At this point he was nibbling my neck and I had a horse face staring me straight in the eye over his shoulder and I don't know which one of us had a more shocked look on his face. My first thought was eww, my man is turned on by the smell of horse manure! But my fears of what kind of fetish he was trying to get me into we're quickly dispelled when he told me that the hat turned him on.
Of course I'm sure the sight of me in my tight Levi's as I bent over to clean out the stall helped push him over the edge. Still, I have decided to bring this hat with me back to Ireland. Tomorrow we are going out and I am going to buy him a hat for himself....and maybe a whip! Or maybe some chaps! Is it getting hot in here?

Country Life
We have a fire going outside which feels great on this cool night. The snow is starting to melt and the temp is to be around sixty degrees tomorrow. The NFL playoffs are on the telly and my man is getting an education by my friends on the game. We're having a great time visiting everyone. Tomorrow we are going horseback riding. A Place Forever In My Heart
If Heaven - Andy Griggs
I remember sitting on those steps one warm summer night. I was surrounded by family and friends who loved me, but I was feeling sad because I felt I was missing something. That one thing was someone to love, someone who loved me. It seemed almost everyone I knew was dating someone. But not I, for it was not easy to find another gay man living in the country. How I longed to walk down this sidewalk holding the hand of the one I loved and introduce him to my family. I remember laughing to myself when I thought of what some of their reactions would have been like.
I went here to this gazebo last night with my man after visiting my parents graves. As I stood on the gazebo, the ghosts of my past surrounded me. I could still picture that young boy sitting on those steps feeling sorry for himself. I could still hear the sound of the laughter of my friends, my fathers voice calling everyone to dinner. The sweet smiles of my grandmother and mother as they sat waving little fans to keep the heat down and the flies away.
All I wanted at the time was for those days to pass quickly so I could become a little older and get out of this small town. To find my life, to seek adventure, to experience love. So it was kind of ironic that I now stood on this gazebo with the arms of my man wrapped around me to comfort me as I cried.

Leaving For The Boondocks
We are packed and ready to head to the airport for our flight to the States. This will be my mans first visit to the states to see where I grew up. It will be fun for me to see how he handles country life. I am excited for him to see where I come from. There is so much I want to show him. I'm taking him to his first rodeo and hockey game. I am excited to hang out with my old friends again and see some family.
The cutest thing happened last night when I got my bags out to pack. My cat knows that means traveling is involved, so he spent the whole night snuggled in my arms in bed. Fortunately he loves my roommate so he will be OK while I am gone.

Night At The Cottage
My man has been working long hours at the hospital the last few days and we havn't done much together. So today when he was able to get some time off we went to visit some of his family and friends and tonight we are staying in a little cottage in the country.
You can tell no one has stayed in this cottage for some time now as the furniture has an inch of dust on everything. We even had to chop some firewood to get the stove going because the old wood is no longer good to burn. While chopping some wood, I accidentally dropped a log on his foot and now he is walking with a limp and his foot is sore and has a bruise.
After cutting the firewood, he decided he wanted to sit and rest his foot for a moment, so I went to take a shower. I was only in for about 10-15 minutes, but by the time I was done with my shower, all the hot water was gone. Shortly after I started getting dressed in the bedroom, he went to take his shower. I heard the water turn on and then all I heard was cussing. He walked into the bedroom with his towel around his waist giving me a look. I told him I didn't know the hot water was going to run out that fast. Its been about an hour now and he is still waiting for the water to get warm enough for him to get a shower.
While I was in the bathroom getting dressed, I noticed the bedroom smelled musty and old, so I sprayed what I thought was air freshener around the room. But it wasn't air freshener, it was bug spray. I about choked us to death! Now we can't even go in the bedroom. He was looking forward to a good nights sleep and now we may have to sleep in front of the fireplace on the floor.
Because of all this I am on time out. He told me to sit in this chair and not move until he is done with dinner. So I figured I would send one last posting out before something else happens tonight in case the authorities need to know what I was doing in my last hours.
