Dublin Doors




These very iconic colored doors are a frequent sight in Dublin. Legend has it that they were painted bright colors after the death of Queen Victoria! Apparently she wan't fond of Ireland or the Irish people. When she died in the early 20th century her "subjects" were instructed to paint their doors black as a sign of mourning. The people of Dublin had a different idea and they painted their doors bright colors, not really in "celebration" of her demise, but...
