Homemade Bomb Found in Dublin

A pipe bomb was found under a car early today. The Army Bomb Disposal unit was called to Captain’s Avenue, Crumlin, in Dublin at around 1.50am. They found the small device under a vehicle at a house on the street and made it safe without having to do a controlled explosion.

“The improvised explosive device (IED) was removed and further examination of it is being carried out this morning in conjunction with investigating Gardaí,” a Defence Forces spokesman said. “The constituent parts of this home-made device will be handed over to Gardai after this technical examination.”

Bomb disposal officers on scene gave the all clear at 2.50am.

Everyone is wondering was this just a personal vendetta someone has against someone, or part of the start of something bigger. Was it meant to disrupt the St. Patricks Day celebrations, was it because Ireland is sending troops to Chad, or a left over Protestant-Catholic issue? So many conspiracy theories being talked about tonight.
