Sunday Evening Resting

We did a lot of walking and swimming this weekend and it feels good to be home and resting on the couch. Gareth got a bit too much sun this weekend and I had to put some lotion on him. We're watching some Graham Norton episodes we had taped and I'm trying to talk him into making us a snack. I'm hungry right now, but too lazy to get up and do something about it. lol.

Ireland won the A1 Grandprix, just watched it on tape.

Neary a quarter of a million Irish have visited Galway for the Volvo Ocean Race. Its been beautiful weather with plenty of sunshine. We've sampled lots of good food and drink and met so many interesting people. Finding a place to piss though, thats a different story.

Millvina Dean - Last Of The Titanic

An end of an era arrived today with the passing of Millvina Dean. She died Sunday at age 97 after suffering from pneumonia. Dean was just over two months old when the Titanic hit an iceberg on the night of April 14, 1912, sinking less than three hours later. She survived the disaster along with her mother and brother, but her father died that evening.

Rob Thomas

New CD available June 30th. I love his music, can't wait for the Cradlesong to be released.

Plus, I find him very sexy, so I love watching him perform.

P.S - Don't tell Shane I said this.

And don't forget to read his post at the Huffington Post for his support of gay marriage and equal rights. Leave him a message and show him some support for his speaking out even in the face of the backlash he is getting now from the misguided.
Make sure you also support his new CD to show that his support for LGBT equal rights did not hurt his career.

The Homecoming

I'll never get tired of traveling and seeing new places and meeting new people, but its good to be home. When we got to port and I finished doing the things I needed to do to end the trip, I got cleaned up, changed clothes, brushed my teeth and got a ride home. I was actually a bit nervous, or anxious I should say to see Gareth and my cats. I felt like I had been gone for months. When I got home and opened the door, I laid my bags on the floor as our cats came running to greet me. They were meowing excitedly and purring as I picked them up and we gave each other kisses. We have a bamboo candle and it was lit and the house smelled so good.

Gareth was sitting on the couch in a black dress shirt and his red and black checkered boxers reading a book by a table light. He looked so good to me as he laid his head on the back of the couch and smiled. I walked over to him holding our two cats. The cats jumped on the back of the couch. As I leaned over to kiss Gareth upside down I whispered "lets do this spiderman style". We both started to laugh at the corniness as we began to kiss. The kiss kind of worked, but Gareth started to get up and while still kissing me, climbed over the back of the couch and we fell on the floor in a big embrace.

I unbuttoned his shirt and he pulled off my t-shirt as we laid there kissing for the longest time. He suddenly stopped kissing me and pointed to the cats who were now sitting above our heads just watching us. "I can't do this with them looking at us" Gareth said. I started laughing and he squealed "I'm serious". That made me laugh even more.

So he got up, turned the lights out and then laid back down next to me. As he started to kiss my stomach I told him, "You know cats can see in the dark." He got up again, grabbed a pillow off the couch and threw it at them until they ran off and he said, "We need to get a dog."

"Wait til we have children!" I replied. "Ah, feck me" he groaned as he laid his head on my chest. I love this man of mine.

A good friend of mine is moving away to Italy and I will miss him much. His leaving has brought back many memories of when I left home and came to Ireland. Even though you're excited for what lies ahead, you are saddened by what you are leaving behind. May he find his place in this world and may it be a place full of happiness and love. Keep smiling my friend, the world awaits you.
